Ever since we started Vox, we’ve had a channel on Slack, the messaging app we use to communicate in our newsroom, called #vox-explain-it-to-me. Our newsroom members use this channel to discuss issues they need clarification on, trends they’ve noticed, or issues they’re curious or confused about. Conversations on this channel, as well as those who tag us on social media saying they need a “vox-splainer” on a particular topic, are among the things that help shape our reporting.
Now, here’s your chance to participate. Just as our employees can #vox-explain-it-to-me ask each other for things they want their colleagues to explain to them, you can now participate in that process too. Use this form to let us know what topics you’d like Vox to explain From why dating seems so hard these days to why opening a jar is so hard, no question is too big or too small. Explain Me is a podcast, a newsletter, videos and the classic explanatory work you usually see on our site. If you prefer to call into our podcast to ask a question, give 1-800-618-8545 a ring (and don’t forget the 1 — it’s important). Ask away, and leave your name and a callback number.
There’s no deadline, and we’ll check submissions regularly to help inform our story ideas
