Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 election.
A former high school teacher and military veteran, Walz has been in politics for nearly two decades, starting as a member of Congress in 2007. To win over his rural conservative voters and fund police reform, abortion protection, and education. A Midwesterner, Walz could be a useful surrogate for rallying support in his own, typically blue state, as well as in the key battlegrounds of Michigan and Wisconsin.
Harris and Walz are set to make their first joint appearance at a campaign rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They will face off against former President Donald Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance in the 2024 election.
